Turtle Town Occupants (6)
Adult Turtles Currently Living Outdoors |
WildFlower: Female Ornate Adult |
| On July 4th, 2000, she is the first turtle I ever owned, and she is named for the flowers I hand fed her shortly after finding her outside my Aunt's house, in the road. WildFlower must have many years under her belt because of the many scrapes on her shell. |
Okie: Female Ornate Adult |
| In July 2000 we found Okie at a gas station on our way home. Her name Okie is of course from Oklahoma, which is the state the gas station was in. She is a Female with red eyes and spends most of her time hunting for bugs. |
Shawnee: Female Ornate Adult |
| Shawnee was the second turtle we found on our visit to Oklahoma in May of 2005. Dad found her by a road in Shawnee, Oklahoma while driving in the morning. She is a very shy turtle and mother to all the younger turtles we currently have. |
Tecumseh: Male Three Toed Adult |
| The last turtle from Oklahoma. The morning we left to return home from our vacation, just as we turned the corner from my aunt's house, we spotted a big turtle in the middle of the road. He prefers to be alone and comes out in the early morning to hunt for food. |
Flo: Female Three Toed Adult |
| In May 2005 in Oklahoma, just a few miles from my aunt's house on a road, My dad found Flo.We ended up naming her after a R.E.S that passed away from an illness. She used to not be active, but now she comes when called, is very friendly, and loves bananas. |
Kezia: Female Three Toed / Gulf Coast Adult |
| This turtle has quite the back story. A woman who could no longer take care of the turtle gave her to my Cousin, who then gave it to my Uncle. I now own it because I simply fell in love with her. She's the biggest of all my turtles, and estimated to be very old. |

Juvenile Turtles Currently Living Outdoors |
Vega: Male (?) Ornate Juvenile |
| Vega was found on a rainy day, crawling on the patio by the pool, October 25th, 2005. He must have escaped under the gate from Turtle Town. He is an offspring of Shawnee, the second baby we found, and is named Vega for Las Vegas. |
Viva: Ornate Juvenile |
| Viva was found crawling in Turtle Town on October 21st, 2005. My dad was the one who named her Viva. She inspired me to learn about turtles and their housing. She is the first offspring of Shawnee and was about the size of a quarter. |
Hatchling Hotel Occupants (5)
Young Turtles Currently Living Indoors |
Dandi: Ornate / Three Toed Yearling |
| Found on July 5th, 2008, my dad found a hatchling on the feed-bricks while looking into the turtle area. I've always wanted to name a turtle Dandi. I'm not sure who's baby s/he is, but s/he now lives inside her/his very own hatchling hotel. |
Grace: Ornate / Three Toed Yearling |
| October 5th, 2008 I found THREE baby turtles while hand-cutting the grass, this is the first that was near a bush. At first I didn't believe it till I picked it up and it peed on me. I brought her/him inside and showed everyone. Due to her smaller size, she lives alone. |
Grant: Ornate / Three Toed Yearling |
The 2nd hatchling I found outside on October 5th 2008, after showing my family 'Grace', I went outside and looked at the grass, finding one more looking at me almost asking "where's my sister?". S/he now shares a habitat with 'Tumble' and 'Linda'. |
Tumble: Ornate / Three Toed Yearling |
| I wasn't done cutting the grass so I went out once more. I accidentally pulled a patch of grass up, and out tumbled the 3rd hatchling today, thus its name. Tumble and his/her siblings 'Grant' and' Linda' now share a habitat together because of their similar size. |
Linda: Ornate / Three Toed Yearling |
| Two days later, on October 7th, 2008 I found Linda in the same area I found Tumble. As soon as I saw this one it turned around and ran! It took me several moments to pick it up safely and carry it inside. S/he now lives with her/his siblings 'Tumble' and 'Grant'. |

Elle: Hatchling Ornate |
| On April 12th, 2006, Elle was found under the bushes. My mom named it Elle, Elvis if it ended up a boy. On May 31st we noticed that Elle was not using her right rear leg to walk. She stopped eating, and passed on to Turtle Heaven on June 3rd. |
Helmet: Male Three Toed Juvenile |
| He was a juvenile Three Toed Box Turtle, found along with Okie and WildFlower in July of 2000. His shell looked like a soldier's helmet, thus the name. We believe workers left the gate open one day and he must have escaped. |
Flo and Elric: Red Eared Sliders |
| May of 2004, we bought Flo and Elric at a mall in Pensacola, Florida. You could say they were bought on impulse. They did not live long after the long ride home to Vegas and both died within a week of one another. We miss them both very much. |
